Nelson Mandela based his entire life on the principle of dialogue and the art of listening and speaking to others; and the art of getting others to listen and speak to each other.

Chairman of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Professor Njabulo Ndebele, and its CE, Sello Hatang, reflect on a busy and challenging year as the Foundation tackled a variety of issues across a range of social spheres.

The core work of the Nelson Mandela Foundation’s research, dialogue and archive function is to generate an integrated and dynamic information resource on the life and times of Nelson Mandela, and to undertake the research and analysis required to support all Nelson Mandela Foundation functions.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation was established in 1999 when its founder, Nelson Mandela, stepped down as the president of South Africa. It aims to help build a society that remembers its past, listens to all its voices, and pursues social justice.
